Pasadena Selects Sidney Jackson as General Manager of Water & Power

The City of Pasadena has selected industry veteran, Sidney Jackson, to serve as General Manager of the City’s Water & Power Department. Currently serving as the Chief Operations Officer and Deputy General Manager at Austin Energy with a customer base of over 500,000 electric customers, Sydney has extensive experience in both the water and power industries. Prior to his tenure in Austin, he served as Chief Operations Officer at Rochester Public Utility, where he led operations of both the electric and water utilities.

Stated City Manager Miguel Márquez upon making the announcement, “Sidney has a proven track record of leadership, technical and organizational skills in the water and power industries that will strategically position Pasadena to meet the challenges ahead. We are thrilled to have Sidney join our team.”

Our candidate earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Missouri. He will join Pasadena’s executive team in January 2023.
