The month of June continues to deliver joy over here! Join us in celebrating Escondido’s next Fire Chief, John Tenger. John has invested 24+ years with the Escondido Fire Department and currently serves as the agency’s Deputy Chief. John will take the reins from current Fire Chief Rick Vogt who will be retiring in July.
“For nearly three decades John has been a tremendous leader in our fire department and our community. He has the trust, appreciation and respect of the department, colleagues and peers. I am thrilled to promote him to Chief effective July 16, 2023,” stated City Manager Sean McGlynn upon making the announcement.
