We are flippin’ out in February over the selection of Nicole Gonzales to be the City of San Leandro’s new Finance Director! Nicole brings over a decade of public sector finance experience and a wealth 💰 of expertise in strategic financial planning, debt management, and investment strategies.
No stranger to the #EastBay, Nicole most recently served as Director of Finance in the City of Hayward. In San Leandro, she will oversee the City’s total budget of $228 million and a team of 18 staff.
Upon sharing the news, City Manager Janelle Cameron stated, “Nicole Gonzales is a highly skilled public finance professional with a proven track record in ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability. Her expertise, leadership, and deep commitment to public service make her an invaluable addition to our Executive Team. Nicole is a member of GFOA, CSMFO and MMANC. She earned both a bachelor’s degree along with an MPA from California State University, East Bay.
