Pasadena Named David Reyes new PWP General Manager

After a rigorous recruitment and selection process, the City of Pasadena announced the appointment of David Reyes as the new General Manager of Pasadena Water and Power. David has served as Interim General Manager since February 2024 and previously served as Assistant City Manager and Director of Planning and Community Development.

Upon making the announcement, City Manager Miguel Márquez stated, “David has consistently demonstrated resilience, strategic foresight, and a strong commitment to both the technical and community service aspects critical to Pasadena Water and Power’s success. His proven leadership during complex events and his investment in building a high-performing team have laid a very strong foundation for his continued success.”

David holds a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies and Planning from Cal State Northridge. During his time as Interim General Manager, he successfully led the utility through major initiatives and emergency events, such as the Eaton Fire, while fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, and operational excellence.
