Shavies

We are thrilled to join the City of Piedmont in celebrating the appointment of Frederick W. Shavies, II as the City’s next Chief of Police!! Currently serving as a Deputy Chief in the City of Oakland, Chief Shavies brings nearly two decades of policing experience to his new community. Piedmont was attracted to his experience implementing innovative community engagement strategies, leading complex investigations and operations, and managing high-profile events and major incidents. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Washington State University.

“Among a strong pool of candidates, Frederick Shavies stood out as an exceptional leader with experience, values, and knowledge to guide our Police Department going forward,” said City Administrator Rosanna Bayon Moore.

Chief Davies will succeed current Chief Jeremy Bowers following his retirement later this month. We predict awesome things ahead for both these outstanding professionals.
