Sarah Bunting Named New City Clerk in San Leandro

We’re delighted to announce that the San Leandro City Council voted unanimously to appoint Sarah Bunting as the new City Clerk.

With more than 15 years of experience in City Clerk’s offices, including as Acting City Clerk and Deputy City Clerk in San Leandro, as well as similar positions in Berkeley and Livermore, Sarah brings deep technical expertise and strong commitment to public service.

Upon sharing the news, City of San Leandro City Manager Janelle Cameron stated, “I am especially grateful for her willingness to step into this demanding role during a period of transition for the Council and for the excellent work she has done in guiding the office.”

Sarah will oversee San Leandro’s legislative records, elections administration, and compliance with legislative requirements, while serving as a key resource to the City Council, City staff, and the community.

Our candidate is a Certified Municipal Clerk and holds a bachelor’s in liberal arts from Thomas Edison State University. Sarah is a member of the California Municipal Clerks Association.
