PLACEMENT NEWS: Gerry Beaudin now serves as City of Pleasanton’s new Community Development Director

After a very competitive search, we are pleased to announce that Gerry Beaudin has been named as City of Pleasanton’s new Community Development Director.

We’re very excited to have Gerry join the team,” said City Manager Nelson Fialho, “In a crowded field of highly competitive candidates, Gerry distinguished himself to be a bright, creative and balanced thinker to match his impressive track record in city planning and community development.”

Gerry’s previous appointments include Zoning Administrator for the City of Mountain View, Principal Planner for South San Francisco, Assistant Planner for Los Altos, Assistant Planner in Toronto, Canada, and as a private planning consultant. His extensive experience includes working with large city projects, private residential developments, and creating/implementing the long-range master plan for biotech giant Genentech’s 200-acre campus.

Gerry possess the diverse experience required to manage Pleasanton’s residential/commercial development and downtown revitalization projects, including the Community Development Department’s $10 million budget, its 42 full-time employees and consultants.” said Julie Yuan-Miu, Senior Recruiter at Teri Black & Company, LLC, an executive search firm specializing in local government placements.

Gerry acquired a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from Queens University, Canada. He holds accreditation from the American Institute of Certified Planners and the U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design. ,He is also a graduate of the Senior Executives in State and Local Government program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
