We here at Teri Black & Co., LLC, offer enthusiastic congratulations to the Contra Costa County (Calif.) community, the Board of Supervisors and interim County Librarian Alison McKee, who was appointed to the permanent position on Feb. 4.
In the County’s media release about the news, Board Chair Diane Burgis was enthusiastic about McKee’s upcoming tenure.
“As an integral member of our library team, Alison will hit the ground running. She knows our library system and is able to continue to focus her and her team’s efforts on reopening our beloved libraries,” Burgis said. COVID closures have left most libraries with front door/pickup service only.
McKee has been with the Library since 2002 and worked her way up from library assistant to librarian, senior community library manager and deputy county librarian before being appointed interim County Librarian in October. Read the Contra Costa County media release on the East County Today website
TB&C senior recruiter Tina White managed the national recruitment on behalf of the County.
“Alison McKee’s passion and energy for the Contra Costa Library system and the community it serves was evident at every step of the recruitment process,” she said. “It was a privilege to help the County find its next librarian and I am excited to see how the library pivots and thrives under Alison’s leadership.”
