The City of San Leandro welcomes their new Finance Director, T. Michael Yuen, this week. Michael brings decades of local government experience to this East Bay community of 90,000. He most recently served as CEO for the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco where he was previously the CFO for the agency having been promoted from various analyst positions. Along the way, he worked for then-San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom’s Office of Public Policy and Finance. Michael spent the early years of his career with the State of Illinois.
“Michael’s public management experience, financial acuity, and seasoned leadership will guide our Finance Department to better serve our residents,” stated City Manager Fran Robustelli. “He has big picture ideas and methods to implement those ideas.”
Michael attained a political science degree from Illinois State University and a Master of Public Administration from San Francisco State University where he is a member of the Pi Alpha Alpha public administration honors society having graduated in the top tier of his class.
