We’re only just starting our Public Service Recognition Week festivities!

We’re a little late but no less thrilled to throw some fire service confetti to David Pucci on being named Fire Chief of the Central County Fire Department (CCFD) a few weeks back. In a word, woohoo!! Chief Pucci is a Bay Area native who knows the San Francisco Peninsula well. Before being named as CCFD’s new Chief, Dave served as Deputy Fire Chief in the Redwood City Fire Department (RCFD).

During his 26 years with Redwood City, his role as Deputy Chief allowed him to serve as Fire Chief for the City of San Carlos and even serve as Acting Fire Chief in Redwood City. Rising up through the ranks, Chief Pucci developed deep expertise in emergency management and led disaster preparedness activities for his prior agency. He serves on a state emergency management team and has responded to over 30 disasters and wildfires throughout California since 2009.

Fun fact – Chief Pucci started his public safety career as a police officer in Mountain View before the fire service became a bigger passion and he became one of the first paramedics in Redwood City. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Emergency Manager.

The Central County Fire Department is an all-hazards public safety and community service agency serving the cities of Burlingame and Millbrae and the Town of Hillsborough on the San Francisco Peninsula.

Big fire 🔥 kudos to our fire service expert, William Weisgerber, for leading the way on this recruitment!
