Redwood City selects Tanisha Werner to be Director of Engineering & Transportation

We are pleased to share Redwood City’s selection of Tanisha Werner to be City’s new Director of Engineering and Transportation. Tanisha is currently the Deputy Director – Infrastructure for the San Mateo County Transit District. She has previously served in the Cities of Menlo Park, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, and…wait for it…Redwood City!

In making the announcement, City Manager Melissa Stevenson Diaz stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Tanisha back to Redwood City. Her experience in engineering and commitment to public service make her the perfect fit for this role. We look forward to her leadership in advancing our City’s infrastructure and transportation initiatives.”

The Director of Engineering and Transportation is a new position created to oversee the city’s newly created E & T department. Tanisha brings over 18 years of experience in civil engineering, with a particular focus on infrastructure projects. She is a licensed engineer and holds a Master of Public Administration from San Jose State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Fresno State University.
