We are pleased to celebrate the City of Escondido’s appointment of Dare DeLano to serve as its new City Attorney!
Dare joined Escondido’s City Attorney’s office in 2022 as a Senior Deputy Attorney and was promoted to Assistant City Attorney in 2024. She has most recently served as Interim City Attorney. During her tenure with the City, she has advised executive leadership and department directors on complex legal and policy matters and has served as legal counsel to the Planning Commission.
Before joining Escondido, Dare was a partner at a boutique law firm specializing in land use, environmental and real estate litigation. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia Law School and a Master of Laws from New York University School of Law.
