PLACEMENT SPOTLIGHT: City of Manhattan Beach Selects Marisa Lundstedt as Community Development Director

We are honored to share news regarding the selection of Marisa Lundstedt by the City of Manhattan Beach to serve as its next Community Development Director. She currently serves as City Planner in Oceanside, CA and brings 21 years of experience and expertise in the planning arena which includes service in both the private and public sectors.

Marisa has led the completion of numerous award-wining projects that have been recognized by national, state and local agencies including the American Planning Association (APA), the North American Infrastructure Leadership Forum, and Endangered Habitats League.   In addition to her planning, CEQA and coastal land use expertise, she has a gift for bringing together diverse stakeholders to create a shared vision for community development. “I believe strongly in the concept of authentic community engagement. It is only through this approach do we turn stakeholders into partners,” she said.

“She strongly promotes the value of authentic community involvement and the success in her career has focused on good customer service, community and agency relationships, as well as comprehensive outreach programs,” said City Manager Mark Danaj.

Marisa holds a degree in Environmental Science from the University of California at Berkeley and continued her graduate work at the University of San Francisco in Environmental Management.
