Jan Mazyck named new Santa Rosa CFO

The new year will bring many changes, including a new Chief Financial Officer for the City of Santa Rosa, Calif. Jan Mazyck, fresh off her current position in the U.S. Dept. of the Treasury, Office of Technical Assistance, will begin her new position on Jan. 4, 2021, City Manager Sean McGlynn announced this week.

As the City’s CFO, Mazyck and her 94-person team will be responsible for overseeing the City’s financial and accounting functions, including it’s $436.6 million budget, accounting, purchasing and long-term planning.

“I am thrilled to bring on Jan as a member of the Santa Rosa team,” McGlynn said. “Her extensive background in financial management will be especially critical in helping to lead the City through our continuing work to stabilize a budget that has been challenged by the pandemic and wildfire disasters in recent years.”

Mazyck’s career spans 20+ years in governmental leadership, financial management and strategy. At the Treasury Dept., as an advisor with the Budget and Financial Accountability team, Mazyck helped transitioning countries to strengthen their public financial management practices, to provide them with longer-term financial stability and broader economic success.

With an expansive career helping California governments and quasi-governmental entities finance infrastructure in the public interest, Jan has also held leadership roles as chief financial officer, finance director and treasurer.

She graduated from Golden Gate University in San Francisco with post graduate studies at the UCLA Anderson School and the Harvard Kennedy School.

Congratulations to both Ms. Mazyck and the City of Santa Rosa!
