The City of Palo Alto recently announced the selection of Lauren Lai to be the City’s next Director of Administrative Services/Chief Financial Officer and we couldn’t be more excited! Lauren is no stranger to leadership, having served as Finance Director in four California cities, including the Cities of Milpitas and Monterey.
Upon announcing his selection, City Manager Ed Shikada said, “Lauren’s extensive experience in municipal finance and leadership helping local government agencies focus on effective and innovative services and budget management through collaboration will further Palo Alto’s financial stewardship into the future.”
In Palo Alto, Lauren will oversee Finance, Real Estate, and Budget and Financial Planning. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from University of Missouri and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from San Jose State University. Lauren is also a California Certified Public Accountant.
