The City of El Segundo has announced the appointment of Saul Rodriguez as its new Police Chief and we couldn’t be more excited. Chief Rodriguez brings more than 30 years of distinguished service and a wealth of Southern California policing experience to El Segundo PD.
After starting his career as a transit police officer with LA County MTA, Saul has invested the last 25 years of his career with the Santa Monica Police Department rising to the rank of Captain. His various assignments in Santa Monica read like a “world tour” in policing.
Upon sharing the good news City Manager Darrell George stated, “Today, the city is gaining a leader known for his ability to implement effective policing policies, promote accountability, and prioritize community engagement. Chief Rodriguez has a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges facing our city and is dedicated to implementing strategies that address these challenges while ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. We’re thrilled to have someone of Chief Rodriguez’s integrity and caliber in this critical role. ”
Chief Rodriguez holds a Master of Public Administration degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Management.
