This is the bright light we needed in SoCal this January! Teri Black & Co joins the City of Santa Monica in celebrating the selection of Arminé Chaparyan to serve as Director of Community Development.
“Arminé has a wealth of experience and I know she will bring tremendous knowledge and insight to the role to benefit our residents, businesses and visitors,” stated Santa Monica City Manager David White upon making the announcement. In her new role, she will oversee a department of 87 team members and an operating budget of $30.7 million.
Arminé most recently served as City Manager in the City of South Pasadena after largely devoting the first 20 years of her career to community development, community preservation, economic development and project management roles in the cities of San Gabriel, Santa Clarita, Ontario and West Covina. Our candidate has also been a consultant to public agencies. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from USC and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UCLA.
Lead recruiter: Tina White
Note: This is the second time TBC has had the privilege of placing Arminé. Teri identified this local government pro as a rising star back in 2008 when she placed her in the City of Santa Clarita as a Redevelopment & Community Preservation Manager. We never forget our superstars!
