We are beyond honored to announce the selection of Matthew Lethin as the City of San Bruno’s new Chief of Police. A resident of San Bruno, Matt started his career with the Marin County Sheriff’s Office and currently holds the rank of Captain in the San Mateo Police Department where he has served for nearly 19 years.
“It is a privilege to appoint Matt Lethin to serve as the new Police Chief for San Bruno,” said City Manager Alex McIntyre. “Chief Lethin understands San Bruno’s challenges and priorities. I am confident he will lead our police department to implement programs and initiatives that will enhance public trust and community relations, continuing to ensure public safety in our community.”
Matt holds two bachelor’s degrees (Political Science and Spanish) from UC Davis and earned his MPA from the University of San Francisco. He is also a graduate of California POST’s Command College as well as the Executive Leadership Institute at the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University.
