Woohoo!! Shouldn’t all good news start out this way? We think this is a good practice for 2023. Drumroll please…we are thrilled to celebrate the City of Mountain View’s news regarding the selection of Arn Andrews to serve as Assistant City Manager. This is a new position as a result of the City Council approving a second ACM position for the City Manager’s Office back in December. Arn is currently serving as Assistant Town Manager in the Town of Los Gatos, a position he has held for the past five years.
In announcing her selection, City Manager Kimbra McCarthy stated, “I am excited for Arn Andrews to join our talented, high performing team in Mountain View in the new year. Arn is devoted to public service and his years of local government and finance experience combined with his focused leadership will help our City to move forward in achieving its strategic priorities including Organizational Strength and Good Governance. His commitment to collaboration, innovation and creativity will contribute greatly to tackling complex challenges and priority projects and enhance city operations in the years ahead.”
Prior to serving Los Gatos, Arn served in the City of San Jose for 10 years as the Assistant Director of Finance in the Finance Department and Chief Investment Officer/Assistant Director of Retirement Resources in the Office of Retirement Services. Before entering the public sector, he worked in the financial markets including the American Stock Exchange, and Actis Capital. Arn holds a master’s degree of Public Administration from New Mexico State University and, as a former recipient of a highly coveted International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Local Government Management Fellowship, he currently serves on the program’s Advisory Board.
